Carnage Asada is my band of punk rock brothers with my friends going back to junior high school, George Murillo and Dave Travis, both of whom have had a tremendous impact on my life over the past 40 plus years. The Head on a Platter album: During and coming out of the pandemic I missed playing music dearly. Carnage Asada got together and brought back this vital element to my life. Tony Fate challenged us to come up with a bunch of new material to play so I went to work on creating riffs and we all came forward with some of our best songs yet. My favorite song on the new album is probably “Two Little Brothers from East L.A.” I like that the tune has a very melodic, upbeat feel (a slight departure for Carnage Asada) and a nostalgic air. I love how George’s lyrics juxtapose this poignant childhood feeling of hanging out and playing with his brother together in the summer against the backdrop of a sometimes dangerous and hostile neighborhood setting - David O Jones

George T. Murillo

Born and raised in East LA

Lead Vocalist: Carnage Asada

Met Dave Travis and Dave Jones at Paul Revere Junior High 1980. We shared a common interest, Punk Rock Music and the Avant-Garde.  They are my life long friends to this day. I was invited, no I take that back, I was told by David Travis that I was the new lead singer of his band. I had no singing or lyrical or vocalist experience whatsoever. But then being a freethinking spirit I said what the hell. I had heard people scream and make demonic noises for some Punk and Metal bands. I could do that, maybe even a little better. I have my share of demons that need to be released, what better way then to shout and scream them out.

I like to think of myself as a non-conformist, original progressive Chicano. I am an artist; I have numerous years of Illustration, Calligraphy and Lettering experience. My musical influences are many and varied. James Brown, George Clinton - Dr. Funkenstein, Fats Domino, Marvin Gaye, Henry Rollins, X, Thelonious Monk, Malo, Earth Wind and Fire, Motorhead, DEVO, WAR and millions more...
